Year of the Nurse!

Updated: Jun 1, 2020

We're still here and we're still busy!

As you can imagine it has been quite a hectic time here at the screening centre during the COVID-19  pandemic. Bowel screening was suspended and many of our staff were re-deployed to support other services in the hospital including intensive care. Staff have now returned and we are working flat out to get everything ready to resume our service - more on that in the next blog.

One of the other consequences of the pandemic is that all conferences and training events were cancelled or postponed.

It is at these events that  St Mark's showcases its work by publishing and presenting research papers, giving lectures and submitting video abstracts. We would like to share one such video abstract with you now given that we are in the ‘Year of the Nurse’. We were invited to present this video abstract at ESGE (European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy ) Conference in Dublin in April but as I've mentioned this didn't take place. So, here it is for you to enjoy!
